BUILDING AN OPPORTUNITY GROWING A COMMUNITY
The Northwest Homegrown Music Festival is being developed to create meaningful opportunities for developing and independent Pacific Northwest musicians—while inviting established artists, audiences, businesses, communities and supporters to help build something worth becoming part of.
THE INITIATIVE
THE VISION
A BIGGER STAGE FOR NORTHWEST MUSIC
THAT DESERVES A BIGGER AUDIENCE

The vision is not to separate emerging artists from established performers.
It is to bring them into the same professionally produced environment.
The Northwest Homegrown Music Festival is envisioned as a multi-day music experience where audiences can enjoy artists they already know and leave having discovered artists they did not. Established performers can help draw a wider audience, while developing and independent musicians gain a meaningful opportunity to be seen, heard and remembered.
“Homegrown” describes more than where the music comes from. It reflects how the festival can be shaped - through the participation of artists, businesses, communities, volunteers, partners and music fans from across the Pacific Northwest.
A PROFESSIONAL FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE BUILT AROUND DISCOVERY,
CONNECTION AND OPPORTUNITY.

THE NEXT STAGE SHOULD NOT FEEL OUT OF REACH.
Every artist begins somewhere. The challenge is finding a meaningful next step.
Clubs, small venues, community events and online audiences are vital places for musicians to develop their sound and build their first following. But moving beyond those settings can be difficult, even for artists who have already demonstrated talent, commitment and audience appeal.
The Northwest Homegrown Music Festival is being developed to help create another step forward: professional production, a larger live audience, greater visibility and the experience of performing in a larger festival environment.
WHY IT MATTERS
From an Idea to a Festival
BRINGING THE RIGHT PIECES TOGETHER - IN THE RIGHT ORDER
A festival of this scale is not created by simply choosing a date, booking a stage and putting tickets on sale. It depends on location, infrastructure, funding, partnerships, programming, production, safety, logistics and an audience experience that works as one connected whole.
Developing the Northwest Homegrown Music Festival as an initiative first gives us room to listen, build relationships, test assumptions and make responsible decisions before making promises.
STEP 04
MAKE THE COMMITMENT
Move forward only when the essential foundation is strong enough to support what is promised.
STEP 01
LISTEN & LEARN
Understand the needs and perspectives of artists, communities, audiences and potential partners.
STEP 02
BUILD THE FOUNDATION
Evaluate the festival model, location requirements, resources, funding and operational realities.
STEP 03
CONNECT THE PIECES
Develop the relationships and shared commitment needed to move the initiative forward.
FINDING THE RIGHT HOME
WE ARE NOT SIMPLY LOOKING FOR LAND LARGE ENOUGH TO HOLD A FESTIVAL.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE WHERE THE NORTHWEST HOMEGROWN MUSIC FESTIVAL CAN CALL HOME.
THE LOCATION WILL HELP SHAPE THE FESTIVAL
THE RIGHT SITE MUST SUPPORT THE EVENT OPERATIONALLY, AND MAKE SENSE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AROUND IT.
The Northwest Homegrown Music Festival is exploring potential locations capable of supporting a professionally produced, multi-day music festival with room for audiences, artists, vendors, camping, parking, production infrastructure and future growth.
Capacity alone is not enough. Access, public safety, utilities, lodging, transportation, environmental considerations and the relationship with the surrounding community all matter.
EARLY CONSIDERATIONS:
Event Infrastructure
Performance, production, utilities, circulation and emergency access.
Audience Access
Parking, transportation, camping and nearby lodging where appropriate.
Community Fit
Local relationships, shared value and willingness to grow together.
Room to Grow
A site and partnership capable of supporting a long-term vision.

community and regional impact
SUCCESS SHOULD EXTEND BEYOND THE FESTIVAL GATES
If the Northwest Homegrown Music Festival succeeds, we want that success to create opportunity for more than the performers on stage.
Regional participation should help shape the experience, and the benefits of the festival should reach into the communities helping make it possible.
Local Business
Potential opportunities for vendors, hospitality providers, services and suppliers.
Artists & Audiences
A larger platform for Northwest music with discovery built into the audience experience.
Community
Local knowledge, volunteer participation, organizational relationships and shared ownership.
Regional Partners
A platform for organizations that want to support music, people and Northwest communities.
"Homegrown" is not only about where the music comes from. It is about who helps build what comes next.

WHERE WE ARE NOW
THIS IS REAL - AND IT IS BEING BUILT
The Northwest Homegrown Music Festival is currently in the development stage.
We are researching potential locations, developing the festival model, building relationships, exploring funding and partnership opportunities, and inviting artists, businesses, communities and supporters to become part of the conversation.
Now / Development
Define & Validate
Refine the model, evaluate locations, understand requirements and identify key relationships.
Next / Foundation
Build Commitment
Develop the funding, partnerships, community participation and operational foundation.
Future / Festival
Bring It to Life
Announce dates, artists and ticketing when the essential pieces and credible commitments are in place.
WHY THIS MATTERS
We would rather build the foundation before announcing the promise. That allows the Northwest Homegrown Music Festival to grow from a compelling idea into a festival people can trust, support and look forward to.
